Retired Electronics Systems Engineer now working full time behind cricket club bar. Don’t have any of these new fangled auto plugs, I’m a manual type. Many of my household systems are controlled by clocks and timers. Turning these off/on often resets the clock, so after an Equivent I have to go around the house setting the time. But, hey, I’m retired, what else have I got to do?
One of my startling revelations was that my main meter clock, (the only one that I have no control over), was out by 90 minutes and as I was on ECO7 tariff this meant my main heating missed the first 90 minutes of my cheap rate and ran 90 minutes into the expensive rate at the other end. Complained to the company and supplied some readings and maths to back it up, and we agreed some compensation. That’s when they swapped me out to a Smart Meter and I’ve been measuring things and been micro setting clocks & timers ever since. But, hey, I’m retired what else have I got to do?
