There us something very unsatisfactory about in-app notifications:

  1. notifications about events you don’t opt into disappear. This leaves you feeling gaslighted!

  2. “Tap for more details” does nothing after an event.

  3. NESO events appear to be secret in that there were no in-app notifications for 20 December and 20 January (evidence for them came from Points transactions) nor
    8 January (informed of it only by email). Because of this and point 1 above there is no way of knowing just how many events you have missed, NESO or otherwise.

Thank you for getting in touch with us and for sharing your feedback. It is really helpful in improving the app.

With regards to your points:

  1. When you say notifications about events you don’t opt into disappear, which screen in the app are you referring to? All Push notifications can be viewed at any time via the bell icon on the app’s home screen. However, we do not list events that you haven’t participated in on the ‘Account Balance’ or ‘Your Participation’ screens as we only track the events that you have taken part in.

  2. Which screen in the app are you referencing when you say that the ‘Tap for more details’ does nothing after an event? Are you referring to the Push notification sent when the event begins or ends?

  3. We did not run any NESO events on the 20 Dec or 20 Jan so we will need to investigate further. I have raised this with my colleague to investigate further.
    For the event on the 8 Jan, our system shows that you were sent Push notifications and they appear to have been received by your device. Have you experienced many other instances of missing notifications that you are aware of?
