Poor event payout

Hi

I’ve discharged nearly 44kWh into the grid across multiple events (with more still pending), over 3 months

On one occasion I was given 20 points (pence) per kWh, but all the others have been 10p/kWh

I received a 500 point bonus for coming 3rd in a leaderboard one month, but apart from that earnings for the 44kWh have been around 500 points (£5)

Given the cycling on the batteries and round trip losses/stress on the inverter, I’m struggling to see the appeal receiving £5 (of course bonuses aren’t guaranteed) over 3 months to cycle expensive hardware

Are these payouts normal? If so, I’m curious what the appeal is for those just saving energy by turning appliances off, they must only be earning single digit points (pence) for each event?

Are there higher paid events coming, and do you know what kind of payout those events would have? And is there any way we can see that value before opting in to an event?

Right now I’m just discharging my battery blind without knowing whether the event is actually financially beneficial before I participate. For example, are the powerdown events just a customer retainer with a set budget, and DNO/DFS events are labelled differently in the app?

I’ve got 33kWh of storage so I’m really in a position to help the grid, but right now it’s not making too much sense

I think this is really important info for those looking to contribute their time and hardware as part of the equiwatt community
